[00:00:45]What's up guys, welcome to today's episode of the men made for more podcast. And we are talking about three limiting beliefs that are keeping you from your next level. And, uh, this is this topic, so good. And I just, I just got back [00:01:00] actually from, uh, From being around a coaching group, being around a bunch of other guys in the, in a mastermind format of all these people, doing businesses and speaking, and doing these new things and doing these awesome things yet in this room of all these amazing individuals that I'm so inspired by there.

[00:01:17] These limiting beliefs that that still affect even, even those that show external success, even those that are on the path towards something great. And I know these are things that I've had to overcome and continue to have to overcome regular basis. These are things that are going to creep in as you try and do something great.

[00:01:37] Whether that's. Business life in your personal life. It doesn't matter. These limiting beliefs can keep you from reaching that next level from becoming that best version of yourself. And this topic is going to going to be, you know, one that, uh, we're going to hit on a lot in our upcoming virtual business summit.

[00:02:42] And that's really, uh, it is a business summit, but the mindset side is really we're going to, we're going to continue to dive deep because that's what keeps most business owners from reaching their next level. Whether that's starting that business. Growing that business scaling that business, but that's what keeps a lot of, uh, parents and individuals and, [00:03:00] uh, people in our fitness goals, whatever your goals are.

[00:03:02] If these beliefs are there, then it's going to slow you down and it's going to be like a weight. That's just weighing you down, slowing you down on your path towards your goal. So go get signed up for that. If you haven't already, I cannot wait to see you guys in there, but, uh, let's dive into these limiting beliefs that we're going to be getting into here today.

[00:03:21] First one, there's going to be three that we're going over three limiting beliefs and maybe some mindset strategies we can, we can touch on to, uh, help overcome these things. And the first one is. The fear of perfection and how many of you can relate to that? Listening? The fear of perfection. And, uh, we're going to use business as an example.

[00:03:43] Cause, cause that's a, you know, an easy one, a relevant one, but again, you guys can apply this to any years, your life, that you're feeling like you're struggling and where you're not getting the momentum where you feel like you should be further along than you are right now. And this fear of perfection can look like.

[00:03:58] Uh, waiting [00:04:00] for the perfect time waiting for the perfect situation, the perfect economy, the perfect, uh, you name it when it comes to maybe starting that business. How many of you out there maybe have this, this business idea of something that is been in the back of your mind? You've been mulling it around for awhile and it's like, it's just, it's not the right time right now.

[00:04:18] The, the, the market's not right. The, the situation isn't right. Uh, Financially secure enough. I'm too young. I'm too old. We can make up all these things and try and wait for this perfect time that will never end up coming. And this Rob so many great business ideas, this rubs so many dreams, uh, personally with, with, uh, you know, growth within your family and your personal success in your business.

[00:04:43] Because if you wait for perfect, it's never going to come. And I know you guys have heard this before. I know this is not a, uh, groundbreaking new message. You guys need to hear it again. If you feel like you're stuck, if you feel like you're stalling, if you feel like you're not getting to that next level and you're waiting for that time to [00:05:00] be just right, you got to stop waiting for that perfection to come because it's not going to.

[00:05:06] And the only way to. The only way to get over this and you'll see this recurring theme is to take imperfect action. Lots of imperfect action stack, imperfect actions, day after day. And just get used to saying done is better than perfect. Done is better than perfect. You might have to repeat this to yourself every single day.

[00:05:27] Put it on a post-it by your computer, but I guarantee you guys, if you guys go and just start taking action. Instead of trying to figure out all the pieces, all the details, waiting for that situation to be just right. I guarantee you that you're going to learn more throughout it. You're going to make more progress and you're going to be more fulfilled as you start to actually step in to that person that you needed to be.

[00:05:48] As you give yourself the confidence to say, Hey, I can take action in the face of not knowing all the details and yeah. Not having the time to be just perfect or the situation to be just, [00:06:00] right. So that's the first one, got to avoid the fear of perfection. Second thing overthinking. And I would even say planning can fall into this and what this leads to is inaction.

[00:06:13] So again, with this one, the cure is going to be action for this one as well. But when you get into overthinking, you're going to become. You're going to become paralyzed. It's that paralysis by analysis, it gets to the point where your you're planning so much, you're thinking you're platting, you're, you're doing all these, these things of, of what's our, what's our vision.

[00:06:34] What are we going to, what are we going to do? And I found this a lot where it's, I I'm, I'm naturally a thinker and a planner and a processor. And I got to the point where it was like, doing so much of like, Hey, here's what we're going to do. But. Those things weren't getting an accident. We were, we were stalling on that because I was over-planning overthinking, trying to have all the details mapped out versus just taking action.

[00:06:57] And again, not, not being able to see [00:07:00] maybe the whole picture, but being able to take action and planning is something that can kind of mask itself as procrastination. Planning can mask itself as it can. It can be a form of, of procrastination because you're doing this planning. You're, you're cleaning up your desks, you're tidying up, you're doing all these things, but you're never picking up the phone.

[00:07:19] You're never getting out there and meeting with that person or launching that business idea or seeing if there's even, you know, if there's even an interest in it, putting yourself out there, failing, doing those things, but that planning, if you always find yourself well, Um, I'm planning. And then as soon as you get that plan done, it's like, well, I got to switch this.

[00:07:35] I got to switch this up and now play on this other piece of it to make sure that I have this all figured out. What if this, what if this crashes, what if I put my website out? And it doesn't, it doesn't work. What if I put this offer out there and no one says yes. And what are all these counter things I have to do for it?

[00:07:48] And you guys, aren't going to learn in that planning phase. You'll, you'll find that the learning comes by fire through trial. So make sure that you don't spend too much time in that planning phase, that thinking. You want to plan just as much [00:08:00] as you need to, but you got to go out and get in the habit of taking action, picking up the phone, going out, whether it's going out for that run, going out for that gym, asking that, asking that girl that you, that you like out as like going in and not just worrying about all the things that have to happen.

[00:08:14] What are you going to say? What are you going to do? Just go for it. And this is. See this time and time again with business, the ones that succeed are the ones that get in the habit of taking quick action, knowing what they need to knowing the details, making sure they're prepared, but just being able to, to go for it.

[00:08:31] So that's the second one. Overthinking and over-planning, and you're going to cure that with action as well. And the third one, and this is a, this is a big one because, uh, this is one that I've found to be the case. Anytime I try and reach a new level, anytime I try and I get to this place where, where I know I needed to be.

[00:08:54] And this is that when you feel more resistance and more fear around. [00:09:00] That means there's more impact on the other side of it and more of a reason that you need to do it. So the limiting belief is that when I feel yeah, resistance, I feel fear. And that's something that I don't want to go there. I'm not going to go there because that's a, that's an uncomfortable place.

[00:09:15] There's, there's a lot of things that are coming up. Oh. These things came up and, and I, I don't know if I can really put myself out there. When that resistance is coming, when that fear is sinking in that's when you're right on the verge of, of the most impact and the most, uh, potential you could have the most, the most, uh, uh, just impactful ways that you can give your talents back, give your passions back and step into that, that true call.

[00:09:42] And you have that true next level. So when you're feeling that resistance, you have to act in the face of fear. You have to feel the fear and be able to say, be able to acknowledge it for what it is, but know that the impacts on the other side of that it's snack, you're not going to get to the level you ever want to.

[00:09:58] If you work up to that point of [00:10:00] resistance and just stop and there's, you know, there's great books out there, the obstacle is the way by Ryan holiday. Is it a great one that talks about this, that. The obstacle is the way to that next level is the way to that success. And this isn't something that we should fear be avoided is something we should expect.

[00:10:16] And when we see that we know we're on the right path towards something bigger towards something better towards that better life. If you think back to the, the most fulfilling things, you've done that the biggest goals you've accomplished. I can guarantee you, they weren't, without resistance, you can probably look back and find several points of that resistance of that fear that kicked in that could've stopped you.

[00:10:37] But didn't so guys, when you're feeling this, when you, when you are starting that new business venture, when you're getting to the point where we have to put yourself out there and risk risk, someone say no to you, risk being turned down over and over again or not knowing if it's going to work. When you have to leave your stable nine to five job and step into something that's a little more uncertain and unknown.

[00:10:59] It's [00:11:00] challenging and it's hard and there's going to be resistance, but I guarantee you, if you're following your passions, if it's something that excites you, but it's also that, that scary feeling, then that's something that you need to be leaning into and you need to be able to go for it because if you put that off, that's where regret comes in.

[00:11:15] When we don't meet resistance with that. When resistance comes and we decide to flee when we decide to withdraw, that's where regret comes in and where we look back and say, man, I wish I would've. I wish I would've done that. I wish I would have gone for that business idea. I wish I would have pursued that goal.

[00:11:33] I wish I would have pursued my next level with that. Passion intensity that I know I could have, I could have done all these things, guys. We don't want to get to that point. That's the worst place to be, where we look back and we have regrets. We have, um, we have lost potential and we haven't stepped into that full amount of impact that we can have for our own lives, for our families, for the lives of those around us and in, through the, uh, you know, people we can help through those businesses.

[00:11:58] We can start. So guys, those [00:12:00] are. The three things that you need to be aware of. And you'll see that action is the recurring theme through each one of those as the antidote, if you will, to these any beliefs, but there's the fear of perfection there's overthinking or over-planning leading to an action.

[00:12:17] It's a form of procrastination. And then there's also, when you feel that resistance, when you feel that fear to, uh, to not lead with withdrawing, to not lead with inaction, but to be able to bust through that, be able to lean into that and be able to take action with that. So guys, those limiting beliefs, they're so common and I'm sure if you look at any point.

[00:12:37] Uh, any area of your life, if you will, any of those pillars that we've talked about in the past, whether that's in your physical health was in your mindset, your finances, your business, there's something there there's some of these things you can pull, maybe there's all three of them. Maybe there's just one of them, but learn to take action, learn to get the habit of, of action.

[00:12:57] Even when it's not perfect, even when it doesn't, [00:13:00] it doesn't feel comfortable. Guys, I guarantee your life will change because I've seen it firsthand with myself. That's probably the one common denominator denominator that the more imperfect action I take, the more I just lean into doing versus thinking too much.

[00:13:15] It always leads to, to better outcomes. It's led us to where yeah, we are today. And I see the same thing with, uh, people around us, with the clients that work with that are just getting into business that are in that phase where it's exciting, but it's scary. And I see that with, uh, other colleagues and people that are doing amazing things, these things still pop up.

[00:13:33] So know that it's normal, know that it's okay. And know that you can cure it with just a little bit of action. It doesn't have to be these massive steps. It can be just a little bit of the right area. So guys hope you enjoy this one. I hope you can identify with, with one of these things and think of, think of one way that you can take a small step of action today right now towards that goal, towards that thing you've been putting off.

[00:13:58] I want you guys to think about [00:14:00] that and I'm guys, why don't you take the step no matter how small it is, it's going to be moving. One step closer. Uh, not just from a, uh, an actual progress standpoint, but from a confidence standpoint of saying, Hey, if I can take that step every single day, I can prove to myself and then start to show others that it's possible.

[00:14:17] Those, those big dreams you have in whatever area of life that is, whether it's just being there. The best dad or husband, you can be, whether it's starting that business, whether it's doing something financially, that your family hasn't done, whether it's setting a physical goal, those things are all possible for you with the right action steps.
